Collection: Campbeltown

Campbeltown is one of Scotland's five official whisky regions, located on the Kintyre Peninsula. Once known as the "whisky capital of the world," Campbeltown was home to over 30 distilleries in the 19th century. Today, only three active distilleries remain: Glen Scotia, Springbank, and Glengyle. The region is characterized by a unique variety of whisky styles, despite its small geographical size.

Whiskies from Campbeltown often have strong, complex flavors with maritime notes, attributable to their proximity to the sea. Salty, oily, and sometimes peaty nuances are characteristic of this region. The Springbank distillery, in particular, is known for its artisanal production and the diversity of its whiskies, including the Springbank, Longrow, and Hazelburn brands, which range from lightly smoky to intensely peaty. Glen Scotia also offers excellent whiskies, such as Glen Scotia Double Cask and Glen Scotia Victoriana, which are valued for their maritime freshness and depth. Glengyle produces a range of whiskies under the Kilkerran brand, known for their balanced taste.

Despite the limited number of distilleries, Campbeltown has maintained great significance in the whisky world and is considered by connoisseurs to be a region of extraordinary character. The whisky from this region particularly appeals to enthusiasts who appreciate complex and distinctive flavors. With a long history and a special geographical location, Campbeltown remains an essential part of Scottish whisky tradition.
