The Glen Scotia Festival Edition 2026 is an annual special bottling from the traditional Glen Scotia Distillery, released to mark the Campbeltown Malts Festival. This edition stands for creativity, craftsmanship, and special cask maturations – each year with its own distinct character. Bottled at a robust 53.9% ABV cask strength, non-chill filtered, and natural color, this bottling is aimed primarily at lovers of intense and limited-edition whiskies.
Maturation & Cask Types
The 2026 Festival Edition matured in a selected combination of American ex-bourbon casks and special finishes (finish in selected wine casks or sherry casks, depending on the edition). This cask combination gives the whisky a multi-layered structure with fruity, spicy, and maritime elements.
Nose: Fresh fruits, vanilla, caramel, sea salt, and a delicate spice, accompanied by subtle cask notes.
Palate: Full-bodied and complex with sweet malt, ripe fruits, spices, light oak, and maritime hints.
Finish: Long, warm, and balanced with spicy depth, delicate sweetness, and a hint of salty coastal notes.

Ich konnte leider den Genuss noch nicht genießen, ich bin aber überzeugt das er mir schmecken wird!
Freu mich schon drauf
Ein sehr schöner Whiskey. Schmeckt mir persönlich sogar etwas besser als der Lagavulin Dest Edition.

Wie in vielen Brennereien so auch nun bei Glen Scotia. Die Qualitäten werden Jahr für Jahr schwächer auch bei den Festival Editionen, und proporzional dazu steigen dennoch die Preise.
Was soll`s lässt sich trotz seiner ihm anzumerkenden Jugend gut trinken,
aber halt kein Vergleich zu den Zeiten als die damals kleine Brennerei noch nicht so gehypt war.
