The Glen Scotia Victoriana is an exceptional single malt Scotch whisky from the historic whisky region of Campbeltown. With an alcohol content of 54.2% vol and careful maturation in a combination of bourbon casks, PX sherry butts, and heavy char barrels, this whisky offers a modern interpretation of the Victorian whisky style. Bottled at cask strength, without coloring, and non-chill filtered, this whisky is a true highlight for lovers of complex and powerful whiskies.

Produced at the Glen Scotia Distillery, one of the last remaining distilleries in Campbeltown, a region known for its heavy and oily whiskies. The distillery combines traditional production methods with innovative maturation processes to create whiskies of exceptional quality.

The Glen Scotia Victoriana was initially matured in first and second fill bourbon barrels before 30% of the malt received a 12-month finish in first fill PX sherry butts and 70% in heavy char barrels. This careful maturation gives the whisky its characteristic depth and complexity, with aromas of caramelized fruits, chocolate, and polished oak.

Tasting Notes

Nose: An elegant bouquet with notes of oak, crème brûlée, and caramelized fruits, rounded off by polished oak. The nose is multi-layered and enticing.

Palate: A sweet and concentrated start with fruity notes of blackcurrants. On the palate, a powerful mid-palate unfolds with a typical tightening towards the back of the palate. With water, the taste becomes more reserved and complex.

Finish: Clean and initially sweet, with notes of green beans and cocoa. The finish is long and leaves a lasting impression.
