The Glen Scotia 18 Year Old is an aged single malt from one of the last remaining distilleries in the traditional Campbeltown region. With eighteen years of maturation, this whisky develops a remarkable balance of depth, complexity, and classic maritime character. Bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill filtered and with natural color, it reveals all the experience and cask mastery of the distillery.
The whisky matured in a fine combination of ex-bourbon casks and carefully selected sherry casks (Oloroso). The bourbon maturation imparts sweet vanilla and malt notes, while the sherry casks contribute depth, fruit, and spicy seasoning. This cask mix creates a complex interplay of aromas that goes beyond classic Campbeltown facets.
Nose: Elegant notes of dried fruits, caramel, vanilla, fine spices, and a hint of salty sea air.
Taste: Full-bodied and harmonious with notes of dark chocolate, plum compote, nuts, oak, and a subtle maritime spice.
Finish: Long and balanced with gentle sweetness, oak spice, and a lingering, slightly peppery depth.
