The Westland Distillery is located in Seattle, Washington, USA. They deliberately chose not to produce Bourbon, but instead focused on the American Single Malt Whiskey category. They founded and lead the ASMW Commission, which currently includes 110 distilleries.
Since its establishment in January 2010, the distillery has placed the highest value on quality. Each single malt is made from 100% malted barley. The distillate is distilled to a maximum of 80% ABV. Only barrels with a maximum capacity of 700 liters are used for maturation.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Delicate smokiness, accompanied by notes of campfire, roasted nuts, vanilla, and dried fruits.
Taste: Full flavor with a blend of peat smoke, malt sweetness, and spices. Notes of honey, chocolate, and fresh fruits emerge.
Finish: Long and balanced, with a lingering smoke accompanied by a pleasant sweetness and spicy oak accents.
