Tullamore Dew 14 Years Old 41.3% vol. 0.7 l - Irish Single Malt

The 14-year-old Tullamore Dew Single Malt Whiskey is characterized by the so-called Four Cask Finish. After maturation in Bourbon casks, the whiskey, which originates from Midleton, Ireland, receives a 6-month finish in ex-Oloroso sherry butts, ex-Port pipes, ex-Madeira, and ex-Bourbon casks for a perfect balance!

The company was founded in 1829 in County Offaly by Michael Molloy. A later employee, Daniel E. Williams, worked his way up in the company, later became a director, and is still represented in the brand name by his initials. Tullamore D.E.W. now belongs to the family-owned group William Grant & Sons, which also includes Balvenie, Glenfiddich, and other well-known brands in its portfolio.

Color: Golden amber. Nose: Robust and lively with an incredible fruitiness of ripe apples, sweet lemon, and a hint of tropical fruit, enveloped by vanilla-oak aroma. Nose: Very complex on the nose, with many fruity aromas ranging from grapes and raisins to the acidity and spice of oranges and pineapples. Palate: This whiskey begins with the creamy rich notes of dried golden grain. These notes mingle with citrus and the sweetness of honey. All these flavors come together and remind me of a spoon dipping into panna cotta, enjoying its softness. Afterwards, a darkness emerges, filled with the dryness of oak, caramelized brown sugar, and a slight spice. This mid-palate flavor has the distinct taste of bourbon.
