Of the 14 years, it spent 13 in Bourbon casks. It was then allowed to rest for another year in pipe casks that previously matured Tawny Port in Portugal.
Tasting 1
Nose: Cantaloupe, red berries, and baked apples. Accompanied by rich toffee with butterscotch, sweet honey, and dark chocolate. Palate: Fruits and nuts. Peaches, apricots, mango, and plums. Walnuts and pecans. Finish: Smooth fruit salad, pleasantly long-lasting. Tasting Notes by Tomatin
Tasting 2
Nose: Not matured to perfection, but with aromas of light, fresh berries and clove. Accompanied by vanilla and sweet oak with papaya. Overall with the typical mildness for Tomatin. After a while, waves of dark chocolate, nutmeg, and leather unfold. With the addition of a little water, spices and sweet port wine emerge. Palate: Initially oak, very dark and very spicy. Clove, curry, plums, and a bittersweet touch. With a little water, lighter and fresher with additional oak notes. Finish: Long-lasting and spicy with nutmeg and bittersweet oak. WhiskyGospel.com
