Tomatin 12 Year Old 43% vol., 0.7 L

The whisky from Tomatin (here with 43% vol.) spends most of its time in traditional oak casks. Afterwards, it is finished in sherry casks.

This brings out nutty aspects. It matures for a total of 12 years. The tastings we have taken from the 40% vol. bottling.

Tasting 1

Nose: elegant and light, with a great smooth texture, the 12-year-old Tomatin proves to be a classic Highland Malt. A true pleasure for discerning whisky drinkers. The Tomatin is carefully matured in traditional oak casks to produce its slightly peaty, fine taste. The complex bouquet contains malt and fruity aromas with only a hint of peat. Palate: a unique combination of attractive aromas - a balance of apples, pears and malt with slight notes of nuts, which comes from the use of sherry casks. Tasting 2

Nose: delicately spicy. Fresh. Anise. Sandalwood oil bath oil. Palate: sweet, biscuit, pistachios. Finish: Crème de Menthe (mint liqueur?). Comment: more delicate than I remember. Michael Jackson, Whisky Magazine
