The whisky initially matured for 14 years in traditional ex-bourbon casks made of American oak, which impart classic notes of vanilla, honey, and malty sweetness. It then undergoes a finish in Caribbean rum casks, creating additional aromas of tropical fruits, toffee, and warm spice.
