The Smokehead Tequila Cask Finish is a limited edition bottling from independent bottler Ian MacLeod. This single malt Scotch whisky from the Isle of Islay impresses with its intense smoky note and exotic aromas, which are created by the finish in former tequila casks. With an alcohol content of 43.0% vol and maturation in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a finish in tequila casks, this whisky offers a unique combination of peat smoke and tropical fruits.

Produced by Ian MacLeod Distillers, Smokehead is known for its powerful and smoky whiskies from Islay. The Tequila Cask Finish Edition combines the typical peat intensity of the region with an exotic finish in tequila casks, giving it a special character.

The whisky first matured in ex-bourbon casks made of American white oak before receiving a finish in former tequila casks. This special maturation gives it an intense smoky note, accompanied by aromas of grilled pineapple and blood orange.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Intense notes of peat smoke, followed by impressions of citrus fruits such as blood orange and toasted pineapple. The nose is powerful and complex.

Taste: Full-bodied and balanced with intense peat smoke and aromas of grilled pineapple. Notes of caramel, vanilla and peaches complete the taste experience.

Finish: Long-lasting and fruity with a smoky finish. The finish is pleasant and leaves a subtle aftertaste.
