Scarabus is a brand from the independent bottlers Hunter Laing, a renowned family business from Scotland. The Scarabus bottlings come from an undisclosed Islay distillery – a well-kept secret that creates excitement among connoisseurs. Islay is known for its peaty, maritime whiskies – and Scarabus brings exactly this characteristic impressively to the glass.
The Sherry Batch Strength Edition - Batch No. 2 matured in carefully selected sherry casks, which lend the whisky additional depth and complexity. Bottled at a robust 57% vol., it comes into the bottle at natural cask strength – neither chill-filtered nor colored.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: Robust peat smoke, with dark fruits such as raisins and plums, accompanied by sweet spices and a hint of leather.
Taste: Full-bodied and oily. Intense smoke notes meet dried fruits, chocolate, and spicy oak influence.
Finish: Long and warming. The smoke remains present, accompanied by sweet-spicy notes and a dry finish.
