Tasting 1
Color: Golden yellow. Nose: A wonderful blend of aromas – think of vanilla, toffee, and ripe stone fruit (especially apricot and peach). Beneath lies a range of woody baking spices with cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice. Palate: Initially a distinct impression of bitter oranges, followed by burnt caramel. Added to this is the softness and sweetness of dark dried fruits, toffee, and brown sugar. The ripe stone fruit recedes but is still present. Notes of oak and cinnamon intensify, providing depth and lingering through the finish, giving it a pleasant dryness. Tasting Notes from whiskyforeverJahrene.blogspot
Tasting 2
Color: Rich copper. Nose: Significantly fruitier than the twelve-year-old. Truly very nice. Apricots, figs, toffee, something resembling an overripe banana (which is good!), a little waxy, and yes, dried fruit. Distant hints of green apples. Palate: Strong sherry notes emerge, and again the impressions from the nose, but very pleasant. Aromas of old wood, pencils, cardboard, leather, and tobacco in the distance, but the sultanas prevail.
