Tasting 1
Golden yellow. Lively and fresh on the nose. Direct aromas of gingerbread and dried fruits (raisins and candied orange peel). In addition, waves of fresh green apples, honeycomb, and wood spices (cinnamon). Hints of malted barley, vanilla, and cocoa become more perceptible. Also lively and fresh on the palate with green apples that immediately engage the taste buds. Slightly cake-like in consistency, delicate and mouth-watering. Sweet with honey and strong vanilla. The combination is reminiscent of toffee apples. Dried fruits combine with perceptible malted barley, giving the whisky a fruitcake character. Raisins, sultanas, and candied orange peel. The orange notes linger longer and subtly combine with hints of earthy ginger, licorice, and a slight saltiness, contributing to the whisky's mouth-watering nature. The finish is short as the sweet and fruity notes fade, and the earthy ginger, malted barley, and warming wood spices slowly disappear. The malt lingers particularly long. Tasting 2
Compact and enveloping mouthfeel – sometimes sugary and slightly minty – accompanied by the warming, pleasantly sweet chewiness of a rich fruit malt loaf. Occasionally hints of orange peel and clove. Becoming drier, again slightly minty with green apples. Tasting Notes by DrinkMeMag.com
