Monkey Shoulder is produced by William Grant & Sons, one of Scotland's most renowned whisky producers. The "Smokey Monkey" is the smoky variant of the popular original.

The name "Monkey Shoulder" is a tribute to traditional maltmen who often suffered from a shoulder injury known as "Monkey Shoulder," caused by constantly turning the barley by hand.

Monkey Shoulder matures in ex-bourbon casks made of American oak, which give it its characteristic notes of vanilla and a pleasant sweetness.

Tasting Notes

Nose: The nose reveals an alluring blend of sweet honey, vanilla, and ripe citrus fruits.

Taste: On the palate, Monkey Shoulder is soft and creamy, with notes of malt, vanilla, honey, and a pleasant spiciness. The bourbon cask maturation brings out additional depth and a subtle fruitiness.
