The Friar John Cor Chapter III is the third edition of the powerful Cask Strength Congregation series from the historic Lindores Abbey Distillery, the birthplace of Scotch whisky. This series pays tribute to the legendary monk John Cor, who documented the first known whisky production in 1494.
Chapter III showcases the distillery in its purest form: cask strength at 60.2% ABV, naturally non-chill filtered and natural colour, allowing the single malt to unleash its full, intense spectrum of aromas.
The bottling is created from a careful selection of different cask types, including Bourbon, STR casks (Shaved, Toasted, Re-charred), and wine casks. This cask composition gives the whisky a rich combination of sweetness, spice, fruit, and depth.
Nose: Lush notes of vanilla, honey, caramel, red fruits, spicy oak, and a hint of herbal spice.
Palate: Full-bodied, warm, and powerful with caramel, light and dark fruits, malt sweetness, spices, some toasted oak, and a fine nutty undertone.
Finish: Long, intense, and warming with elegant sweetness, oak spice, and lingering complexity.
