The Ledaig 18 Years Old is a powerful, aged single malt from the Isle of Mull and is one of the most complex smoky bottlings from the Tobermory Distillery. As the distillery's peated variant, Ledaig combines intense island smoke with maritime freshness and deep, fruity sherry notes. Bottled at 46.3% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural color, this whisky presents itself as particularly authentic and multi-layered.
The whisky matured for over 18 years in a combination of ex-bourbon casks and Oloroso sherry casks. While the bourbon casks provide vanilla and malty sweetness, the sherry casks contribute dark fruit, spice, and additional depth – perfectly complemented by the characteristic peat smoke.
Aroma: Intense peat smoke, dried fruits, raisins, leather, spices, and a hint of sea air.
Taste: Full-bodied and complex with smoky malt, dark chocolate, plums, spices, toffee, and spicy oak.
Finish: Long, warm, and smoky with lingering fruit sweetness, spicy depth, and maritime notes.
