The Laphroaig PX Cask is a special Travel Retail bottling from the traditional Islay distillery Laphroaig, known for its unmistakable medicinal-peated style. This bottling also brings an intense sweetness, which comes from maturation in Pedro Ximénez sherry casks – an exciting combination of smoke and sherry sweetness.
The whisky matures in three types of casks: ex-bourbon casks, quarter casks (smaller casks for more intense wood contact), and finally in PX sherry casks. Bottled at a robust 48 % vol., non-chill-filtered, it impresses with depth, power, and complexity.
Tasting Notes:

Nose: Intense peat smoke, raisins, dates, medicinal notes, sweet wood, and a hint of sea salt.
