The Kilkerran 8 Years Old is a powerful bottling from the Glengyle Distillery in Campbeltown, produced under the Kilkerran name. The distillery is known for its traditional style and artisanal production, resulting in authentic and characterful whiskies. This edition is bottled at cask strength of 57.7% vol., not chill-filtered and without coloring, which ensures an intense and unadulterated aromatic experience.
The whisky matured for 8 years in selected oak casks, often in a combination of ex-Bourbon and Sherry casks (varying by batch). This cask selection brings fresh, sweet notes as well as spicy depth and fruit aromas to the whisky.
Aroma: Fresh malt, citrus fruits, vanilla, light smokiness and a hint of maritime spice.
Taste: Strong and full-bodied with sweet malt, caramel, spices, dried fruits and a subtle peat note.
Finish: Long and warming with spicy oak, slight saltiness and gentle smokiness.
