Kilchoman Sauternes Cask Matured 50% vol. 0.7l Release 2024

Kilchoman recently introduced a remarkable and particularly rare full-cask maturation: Kilchoman Sauternes Cask Matured. The Islay Single Malt matured for at least 5 years in Sauternes barriques, personally selected by Anthony Wills, the founder of Kilchoman.

A blend of first-fill and re-fill Sauternes casks was used for this Islay Single Malt to create a balanced combination of buttery sweetness, BBQ pineapple, candied ginger, and floral peat smoke.

Tasting Notes:

Aroma: Creamy, buttery notes with ripe fruits, a hint of salty sea air, and subtle peat smoke.

Taste: Butterscotch and floral notes combine with tropical and candied fruits, with peat smoke integrated throughout.

Finish: The sweetness continues on the finish, balanced with clean, lingering smoke and rich texture.
