Kilchoman Sanaig Cask Strength is a powerful single malt whisky from the Kilchoman Distillery on the Scottish island of Islay. Kilchoman, founded in 2005, is one of the region's youngest and smallest distilleries. It is characterized by its traditional approach: everything from barley harvest to bottling takes place on site.
This whisky is bottled at cask strength at 57.8% ABV. It matures in a combination of ex-Bourbon and sherry casks. The ex-Bourbon casks contribute aromas of vanilla and oak, while the sherry casks add sweet fruit flavors and depth.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Intense peat smoke, accompanied by notes of ripe berries, dark chocolate, and a hint of citrus.
Taste: Full-bodied and powerful with a combination of sweet toffee, dried fruits, and spicy oak. The high alcohol content accentuates the flavors.
