The Kilchoman Genesis Stage 4 is a limited edition single malt Scotch whisky from the Islay region, telling the genesis story of Kilchoman whisky. With an alcohol content of 49.1% vol and matured in an exclusive cask combination of Bourbon, Cognac, and Sherry casks, this whisky offers a unique balance of peat smoke, tropical fruits, and spicy notes. Bottled without coloring or chill-filtration, it remains natural and authentic. A whisky that perfectly embodies the "field to bottle" philosophy.

Produced at Kilchoman Distillery, the only distillery on Islay that fully produces its whisky on-site – from barley cultivation to bottling. The Genesis series portrays the genesis story of Kilchoman whisky, and Stage 4 is the first edition to use Cognac casks in maturation. The whisky combines barley with 20 ppm peat content from its own cultivation and barley with 50 ppm peat content from Port Ellen Maltings.

The whisky matured in a combination of 75% Bourbon, 20% Cognac, and 5% Sherry casks. This careful maturation gives it its complex array of aromas, with notes of tropical fruits, caramel, and a delicate spice, accompanied by a light peat smoke.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Gentle peat smoke, accompanied by an abundance of fresh fruits and sweetness. The nose is multifaceted and inviting.

Palate: On the palate, tropical and dried fruits unfold, combined with caramel sweetness and subtle spice notes. The texture is soft and balanced.

Finish: Long-lasting with a harmonious balance of light smoke and sweet fruits. The finish is pleasant and leaves a subtle aftertaste.
