Like Rory, the Kilchoman mascot, the Batch Strength, released for the first time by Kilchoman, embodies the strength and intensity of the distillery. Under the guidance of Master Distiller Anthony Wills, the whisky matured in a complex combination of re-charred red wine, Oloroso and bourbon casks.
To achieve an alcohol strength of 57.0%, a few drops of the finest spring water were added to the Islay single malt to highlight the natural power and character of Kilchoman with notes of dark fruits, rich spices and honey.
Tasting Notes:
Aroma: Red fruits, fresh cherries, heather blossoms and intense peat smoke.
Taste: Toffee, rich spices, vanilla and lingering peat smoke.
Finish: Silky viscosity with fresh biscuits, butter and honey.
