The Kilchoman Distillery on the Isle of Islay stands for authentic craftsmanship: from barley grown on their own fields to malting and cask maturation – much is done in-house here.
This special bottling, with a 13-year age statement, is a limited edition introduced in 2025.
Maturation: It took place in a combination of ex-bourbon casks, so-called octaves (smaller wooden casks), and Calvados apple brandy casks.
Alcohol content: 50% vol. – a robust drinking strength.
Non chill-filtered & natural color: Kilchoman points out that this edition is bottled without chill filtration and with natural color.
Tasting Notes (Producer/Press):

Nose: Fresh citrus notes such as lemon and lime, green apple, and a maritime peat note.

Palate: A mix of sweet malt, honey, green apple, coupled with smoke, sea salt notes, and subtle spices.

Finish: Medium to long with lingering peat smoke, oak, and a hint of fruitiness.
