Kilchoman 100% Islay 50%, 0.7l - Release 2024 - The 14th Edition

The Kilchoman 100% Islay 14th Edition is a special single malt Scotch whisky from the Islay region, embodying the distillery's "from field to bottle" philosophy. With an age statement of 9 years and an alcohol content of 50% vol, this whisky offers a unique combination of fruity, spicy, and smoky aromas. Bottled without coloring or chill-filtration, it remains natural and authentic. A whisky that captures the essence of Islay in every bottle.

Produced at the Kilchoman Distillery, the only distillery on Islay that produces its whisky entirely on site – from growing the barley to bottling. The 14th Edition was distilled from barley harvests from 2013 and 2014 and matured for 9 years in a combination of Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks. Kilchoman is known for its artisanal production methods and the use of locally grown barley.

The whisky matured in selected Bourbon and Oloroso Sherry casks, which give it its complex aromatic diversity. The combination of Bourbon and Sherry casks creates a balanced harmony between rich, fruity notes and a floral peat smoke.

Tasting Notes

Nose: A bouquet of bonfire smoke, pickled lemon, orange peel, and tropical sweetness. The nose is complex and inviting.

Palate: On the palate, a creamy texture unfolds with aromas of caramelized sugar, vanilla, lemon, pineapple sweetness, fresh ginger, and oak smoke. The balance between sweetness and smoke is perfectly harmonious.

Finish: Oily and structured with rich Sherry notes and a lingering peat smoke. The finish is long and leaves a pleasant aftertaste.
