The Isle of Raasay Marsala Cask Limited Release is a special bottling from the innovative Raasay Distillery on the island of the same name off the west coast of Scotland. The distillery is known for its experimental cask policy, combining traditional craftsmanship with modern maturation concepts. This limited edition was bottled at 50.7% vol., non-chill filtered and uncolored, offering an intense and unadulterated aromatic profile.
The whisky matured in a combination of classic oak casks and received a finish in Marsala wine casks from Sicily. This type of cask gives the whisky a distinct sweetness, fruity depth, and slightly spicy wine notes that harmonize beautifully with the distillate.
Aroma: Sweet notes of dried fruits, raisins, honey, vanilla, and fine spices.
Taste: Full-bodied and smooth with flavors of caramel, dark fruits, toffee, spices, and an elegant wine sweetness.
Finish: Long, warm, and fruit-driven with fine spice and gentle oak structure.
