The Inchgower Distillery is located on the east coast of Scotland in the Speyside region and was founded in 1871. It is known for its complex single malt whiskies, which impress with a light sea breeze and a pleasant spiciness.
The Inchgower 14 Years matures in a combination of American oak casks and sherry casks. The casks bring out both sweet and spicy notes, which underline the maritime character of the whisky.
Tasting Notes
Aroma: Fresh apples, citrus fruits, and honey meet a light salty note reminiscent of the coast. Subtle spices and a hint of oak wood complete the aroma.
Taste: On the palate, there is a pleasant mix of sweet malt, dried fruits, and toffee. A slight saltiness and spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg provide depth.
Finish: The finish is medium long, warm, and slightly dry, with notes of oak, spices, and a delicate sea breeze that lingers for a long time.
