The Highland Park 14 Years Old – Land of Orkney is a balanced, complex single malt from the historic Highland Park Distillery on the Orkney Islands. The distillery combines traditional production with the special influence of the Nordic environment – including heather peat and salty sea air – and clearly shows this in the style of this bottling. Bottled at 42.3% vol., the whisky presents itself as soft, rounded, and vibrant all at once.

For maturation, Highland Park uses a combination of American ex-Bourbon casks and sherry-seasoned oak casks. The Bourbon casks contribute fruity vanilla notes, while the sherry casks additionally integrate spicy depth, ripe fruit, and soft sweetness into the profile. The harmonious blend of cask types gives the whisky an elegant balance between sweetness, spice, and subtle smokiness.

Nose: Heather honey, vanilla and ripe fruits like peach and orange, accompanied by light oak and a hint of smoke.

Palate: Full-bodied with fruity notes, toffee, spices, a light peat note and a hint of salty sea air.

Finish: Medium length, warm and balanced with soft sweetness and implied spice.
