The Glenmorangie The Lasanta 15 Years Old is an elegant single malt Scotch whisky from the renowned Glenmorangie Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. It belongs to the distillery's Core Range and impressively demonstrates how maturation in different sherry casks gives the whisky depth, complexity, and balanced sweetness.
Maturation takes place in two steps: First, the whisky is aged in American ex-bourbon casks, before a finish in sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez is added. This combination ensures harmonious fruit and spice notes as well as a soft, yet complex structure.
Nose: Subtle sherry notes, caramel, dried fruits, vanilla, and warm spices.
Palate: Full-bodied and smooth with flavors of orange peel, plum, toffee, dark raisins, and delicate oak spice.
Finish: Long, warm and elegant with fruity sweetness and a fine spice note.
