In both French and Gaelic, the word "Or" means gold. And so, a beautiful connection is made between the whisky matured in Scotland in Bourbon casks and its subsequent finishing in casks from the French wine region of Sauternes.
The vineyards of southwestern France lend their magnificent heritage to the Nectar D'Or through the secondary maturation of the whisky in Sauternes barriques. During this finishing process, the single malt whisky absorbs the honey and citrus aromas typical of Sauternes dessert wine, as well as its spicy character. Nose: Notes of lemon, vanilla, and orange, followed by date and ginger notes.
Palate: Warm gingerbread followed by nutmeg, toasted almonds, and honey.
Finish: Sweet and smooth finish with lemon, vanilla, and hints of ginger.
