Tasting 1
An attractive deep gold, warm and alluring. Different from the 10-year-old, but without the heavy darkness of other older malts. The bouquet is very full, round, and fragrant with nutty, caramel, and vanilla notes. The changes brought about by the additional 8 years of maturation are profound. On the palate, it is exceptionally smooth, silky, and round. Fine, spicy, and subtle. The finish consistently shows great intensity and depth. A great aperitif. Tasting Notes by Glenmorangie
Tasting 2
Nose: not as clean as usual. Distant sulfur notes where the sherry should be. Sweet and crusted pollen. Palate: a short, sweet introduction expands into a mix of sherry and spices. Settles with a peppery maltiness. Finish: a gentle smokiness lingers endlessly, just like the chocolatey malt. Comment: a rich, mouth-filling whisky with surprising length and depth on the finish. Tasting Notes by Jim Murray, Whisky Magazine
Tasting 3
Nose: some oak. More vanilla. A lot of walnut. A touch of peppermint. Palate: good wood extracts and esters. Some peatiness develops. The whole potpourri of spiciness. Finish: firm, dry, rounded. Nutty. Notes of peat. Michael Jackson, Whisky Magazine
