Glenfiddich 18 Year Old Small Batch Reserve 40% vol. 0.7 l

The current bottling of the 18-year-old Glenfiddich bears the name Small Batch Reserve.

Like the previous Glenfiddich, this one also matures in Oloroso Sherry and Bourbon casks. This bottling, selected from 150 casks each, matures for 3 months in large wooden vats and is then bottled in batches. As a result, the bottlings presumably vary in taste.

Nevertheless, we adopt the values from the ranking and taste comparison of the previous bottling.

Tasting 1

Colour: Gold. Nose: Very light with hints of marzipan, overripe apples and fresh hazelnuts. Also scents of roses, orange blossom, lime blossom tea and fresh almonds… Very delicate. Palate: Similar to the aromas. Oriental with Turkish Delight, baklava, many almonds, freshly squeezed orange juice and cider. Becoming more acidic. Finish: Short, but nicely spicy with Christmas cookies (Bredele, as we say in Alsace). WhiskyFun.com

Tasting 2

Colour: Robust Bronze. Nose: Remarkably rich with ripe orchard fruit, baked apple and robust oak. Palate: Rich with dried fruit, candied fruit and dates. Overlaid with elegant oak notes. Finish: Gratifying and excellent. Glenfiddich Tasting Notes
