The Glenfarclas 16 Years Old is a classic Speyside Single Malt from the traditional Glenfarclas Distillery – one of Scotland's last family-owned distilleries. It is considered a prototype for elegantly matured, sherry-aged whiskies from the region, combining rich fruit, spicy depth, and a balanced texture. It was bottled at 46% vol., without chill filtration and with natural color.
For maturation, Glenfarclas exclusively uses sherry-seasoned oak casks (Oloroso), which give the whisky its characteristic intensity, depth, and harmonious profile. The long maturation period of 16 years allows the aromas to fully develop – while the whisky remains soft and complex at the same time.
Nose: Rich and inviting with notes of dried fruits, raisins, sherry-sweet sultanas, spices, and fine oak notes.
Taste: Full-bodied and harmonious with aromas of toffee, dark chocolate, caramel, nuts, cinnamon, and subtle orange.
Finish: Long, warming, and elegant with lingering fruit, spicy depth, and pleasant oak spice.
