The Glen Scotia 12 Years – New Age Statement Release is a modern bottling from the traditional Glen Scotia Distillery in Campbeltown. With this edition, the distillery harks back to classic age statements and combines them with a contemporary style. The whisky is bottled at 46% vol., non-chill filtered and natural color, thus preserving its natural character.
The whisky matured in a balanced combination of American ex-bourbon casks and sherry casks (especially Oloroso). The bourbon casks provide vanilla, malty sweetness, and fresh fruit notes, while the sherry casks add depth, dark fruits, and spicy accents.
Nose: Fresh fruits, vanilla, caramel, sea salt and fine spices.
Palate: Round and full-bodied with sweet malt, toffee, ripe fruits, spices and light oak spice.
Finish: Medium to long, warm and balanced with fruity sweetness, spicy depth and a maritime aftertaste.
