With great attention to detail, the exotic Don Papa Baroko is produced on the island of Negros, also known as Sugarlandia. On fertile volcanic soil at the foot of Mount Kanlaon, sugar cane has been cultivated and artfully processed for centuries under ideal conditions. The company normally produces blended rum, which matures locally in American oak barrels in a tropical climate. The Don Papa Baroko, stored in this way, is based, together with its siblings, on the molasses from this region known as "black gold" - a particularly rich variety. However, according to the new spirit regulations in the EU, it is not a rum in the true sense of the word, but rather a distillate from sugar cane or molasses, which is nevertheless comparable to a genuine rum.
The dark and mild character of the charming Don Papa Baroko is evident in both its aroma and taste: fruity and sweet notes harmonize perfectly with a hint of oak. Vanilla and candied fruit aromas provide a full and rounded overall impression of this amber-colored spirit. The Don Papa Baroko is ideally suited as an entry-level rum and for mixing cocktails and long drinks.
