Dewars 12 is named "The Ancestor" in honor of its founder, John Dewar. John Dewar & Sons, the company he founded in 1846, produces this blended whisky in Perthshire in the Scottish Highlands.
It contains up to 40 different malt and grain whiskies from various regions of Scotland, all aged for at least 12 years. After blending, this whisky is matured for another 6 months in fresh American oak barrels before being bottled at 40% abv.
Tasting Notes:
Nose: Fruity with aromas of sultanas and fresh citrus fruits and a hint of vanilla.
Taste: Warm, buttery and soft notes of honey, caramel apples and toffee.
Finish: Long, rounded and soft finish.
