The Deanston Virgin Oak is a characterful single malt from the Scottish Highlands, produced in the traditional Deanston Distillery. The distillery is known for its natural approach: the whisky is not chill-filtered and bottled without added color. At 46.3% ABV, this bottling is powerful yet approachable.
The whisky initially matured in American oak ex-Bourbon casks before receiving a finish in Virgin Oak Casks. These fresh, unseasoned oak casks provide intense wood and spice aromas, as well as a distinct vanilla sweetness and structure.
Aroma: Sweet vanilla, honey, caramel, fresh oak, and light citrus notes.
Taste: Full-bodied and spicy with notes of toffee, vanilla, spices, toasted wood, and a delicate malty sweetness.
Finish: Medium to long with spicy oak, sweet vanilla, and a slightly dry woody note.
