The Deanston Distillery is located on the banks of the River Teith in the Scottish Highlands and is housed in a former cotton mill. Since 1966, it has been producing artisanal single malts with a focus on natural processes – without chill-filtration, without coloring, and with electricity from its own hydropower.
The Deanston 12 Year Old matures exclusively in ex-bourbon casks made of American oak. This maturation gives it a clear, honey-sweet character with fresh fruit and mild spice. Bottled at a robust 46.3% ABV, it offers a full mouthfeel and authentic Highland style.
Nose: Honey, vanilla, citrus fruits, malt, and a hint of oak.
Taste: Soft and creamy with notes of toffee, spices, grain, some apple, and a slight nuttiness.
Finish: Medium to long, dry and slightly spicy with a malty aftertaste.
