Tasting 1
Nose: toasted malt with a fruity sweetness, light smoke. Palate: distinct sweetness, crushed malt, spice notes and fruity. Finish: some salt in the aftertaste, dry, even slightly bitter finish. www.malts.com

Nose: excellent complexity with diced carrots contributing to the earthy, leafy aroma. Some sweetness, but drier than usual. Palate: fruity, grapey and wonderfully delicious: distinctly different from the nose. Brilliant underlayers of peat draw through and add a delicious sweetness, complemented by sultanas and spices. Finish: smoky, dries quickly to allow a cocoa effect. Comment: a disarming malt that radiates pure class. Jim Murray, Whisky Magazine

It's the texture that makes this dram: a creamy, velvety, mouth-filling sweetness, with a slightly metallic finish. Lots of tropical fruit, a hint of smoke and perfumed candles on the nose. Royal Mile Whiskies
