In 1014, at the Battle of Clontarf, King Brian Boru gave his life to secure victory for the Irish over the Vikings. So it says on the bottle. The whiskey rested gently in Bourbon casks.

Tasting 1

Nose: Like delicious toffee candies that diet patients secretly carry in their purses. Palate: Tastes like the aroma. Finish: Vanilla, spice, and overall very pleasant. Rating: Dangerously delicious, like flirting with your boss. Tasting Notes from Clontarf Distillery

Tasting 2

Very fresh on the nose with oak, a little caramel, and a lot of citrus (oranges). As befits an Irish whiskey, without any hints of peat. On the palate, slightly oily and with a very fresh sweetness (perhaps even a little exaggerated) as well as noticeable citrus. Medium-long finish, but fortunately less spicy than the Reserve.
