Cardhu 12 Year Old Single Malt - A Late-Discovered Celebrity

For many years, this whisky from Morayshire, near Knockando and Cardow, was difficult to find in Germany. Most bottles were exported to Italy and Spain, where it has always been very popular. It's all the more wonderful that we can offer you this fine spirit, because it is truly worth trying. The Cardhu 12 Year Old Single Malt is double distilled after mashing, using barley malt and water from the Mannoch Hill spring. It then matures for twelve years in former bourbon and sherry oak casks. Caramel coloring is used for a more appealing hue, and the malt is chill-filtered.

The Cardhu 12 Year Old Single Malt captivates with a fruity freshness, enriched with oak wood and roasted aromas. It is not overly sharp, but still a little peppery. We recommend opening up this fine spirit with a splash of water. This allows the aromas to develop even better, and the full range of tropical fruits, as well as pear, a hint of vanilla, and nuts, harmoniously combine with the malty sweetness, the slight bitterness, and the aged oak. The sherry note becomes a little more pronounced than without adding water. Be sure to drink Cardhu 12 Year Old Single Malt at room temperature.

Color: pale orange to light gold. Nose: predominantly oak and maritime aromas, strong apple and pear sweetness, good body.
