Distilled in 2014 and bottled in 2026, this Speyside Single Malt matured for 11 years, showcasing the typical powerful style of the Mortlach Distillery. Known as “The Beast of Dufftown,” Mortlach is renowned for its particularly intense, meaty, and complex character. The bottling is done at 100 Proof (57.1% vol.), naturally non-chill filtered and uncolored.
The whisky matured in a combination of first-fill and refill sherry butts. The first-fill casks impart intense aromas of dark fruits, chocolate, and spices, while the refill casks allow the robust Mortlach distillate to develop its characteristic depth and structure.
Nose: Dark fruits, raisins, chocolate, spices, leather, and a strong malty note.
Taste: Full-bodied and intense with sherry sweetness, plums, dark chocolate, nuts, spicy oak, and subtle meaty hints.
