Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2012/2022 10 Years 50% vol. 0.7l

In 2011, the Agronomy Institute of Orkney College in the Orkney Islands cultivated a six-row Bere barley that was used to produce the Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2012. The barley was fermented with Mauri and Kerry yeast strains and then distilled. The resulting Single Malt Scotch Whisky was allowed to mature for ten years in a blend of first-fill bourbon casks from Jim Beam, Jack Daniel's, Buffalo Trace, and Clermont Springs.

This Single Malt Whisky was bottled at 50% alcohol by volume, without chill-filtration and without added coloring. The Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2012 presents itself as extremely complex and powerful even on the nose: citrus notes, green aromas of lime, fresh hay, and green apple, floral nuances, and sweet barley malt. On the palate, the Bruichladdich Bere Barley 2012 reveals a firm texture and the characteristic aromas of Bere barley: cereal, apple pie and warm scones, compote and honey, transitioning into spicy notes of milk chocolate, gingerbread, and marzip on the finish.
