The Bowmore Distillery was founded in 1779, making it one of Scotland's oldest distilleries. It is located directly on the coast of the Isle of Islay and is known for its balanced whiskies, which combine maritime character, elegant peat smoke, and fruity sherry notes. The Bowmore 12 Years Old is the core of the range and a classic among peated single malts.
The whisky matured in a combination of ex-bourbon and sherry casks, giving it depth and complexity. Bottled at 40% vol., it impresses with a harmonious interplay of smoke, sweetness, and fruit.
