The Bowmore 11 Years Old is a well-balanced Islay Single Malt that reflects the classic style of the Bowmore Distillery: an interplay of maritime freshness, balanced smoke, and selected cask maturation. For this bottling, the whisky first matured in American ex-bourbon casks before being finished in Spanish oak sherry casks. This combination gives it both fruity and spicy depth. It was bottled at 40% vol., making it smooth and approachable in taste.
Nose: Gentle vanilla and citrus notes meet light caramel, a slight sea breeze, and subtle peat smoke.
Taste: Soft and rounded with sweet malt, ripe apples, plum compote, a slight sherry influence, gentle spices, and a hint of smoke.
Finish: Medium-long, harmonious, and balanced with sweet-spicy wood notes and a touch of salty depth.
