The Benromach 15 Year Old is an outstanding single malt Scotch whisky that impressively combines tradition and craftsmanship.

This re-release presents itself in a stylish design and reflects the original Speyside style before 1960. Matured in a perfect combination of ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, it convinces with its complex character and natural elegance.

With a phenol content of around 12 ppm, the whisky shows a delicate smoky note, which is rather untypical for Speyside whiskies and characterizes Benromach. The whisky is bottled exclusively from 1st fill casks, without colorings, allowing its natural copper color to shine through.

The creamy sweetness of the bourbon casks harmonizes perfectly with the spicy fruitiness of the sherry casks. In 2018, the Benromach 15 Year Old was awarded best Scottish Speyside Single Malt at the World Whisky Awards – a well-deserved title for a whisky that delights with honesty, craftsmanship, and quality.

Tasting Notes:

Nose: An enticing scent of vanilla, orange zest, and ginger opens the sensory experience. Notes of cocoa, cinnamon, nutmeg, and a hint of oak join in, underscoring the sherry notes.

Palate: On the tongue, the Benromach 15 Year Old is full-bodied and harmonious. The impression of a juicy fruitcake with plums, apples, and a hint of kiwi is complemented by spicy accents such as cinnamon, nutmeg, tobacco, and sweet oak. A subtle smoky note rounds off the taste, creating a complex yet balanced experience.

Finish: The finish is long-lasting, slightly dry, and surprises with a subtle hint of smoke, accompanied by leather and spicy nuances.
