With this cask strength bottling, the young Islay distillery Ardnahoe Distillery is launching a particularly intense version of its whisky. The Cask Strength Edition – Batch No.1 – was matured for five years exclusively in First-Fill Bourbon Barrels and then bottled at a robust 60.9% vol.
Origin & Style
Ardnahoe combines the typical island style – light peat notes and maritime freshness – with a new intensity due to cask strength and targeted cask selection. According to the manufacturer, no colorants were used and the whisky was not chill-filtered.
