The Ardnahoe Càraid Ìleach is a limited special bottling from the young Ardnahoe Distillery on Islay. The edition consists of two pure sherry full maturings, with this bottling having matured entirely in Oloroso Quarter Casks. The smaller cask sizes result in a particularly intense exchange between whisky and wood, which gives this single malt a distinct depth and aromatic richness. It is bottled at 50% vol., naturally without chill filtration or artificial coloring.
Aroma: Dark chocolate, orange peel, cherry and fine notes of campfire ash.
Taste: Full-bodied and spicy with toasted walnuts, fruit cake, nutmeg and a gentle sherry sweetness.
Finish: Long, warm and balanced with hints of leather and subtle, typical Islay smoke.
