The anCnoc 18 Years is a single malt Scotch whisky from the Scottish Highlands, distinguished by its spicy and fruity characteristics. With an alcohol content of 46% vol and careful maturation in ex-bourbon and sherry casks, this whisky is an example of the modern interpretation of traditional whisky production. Produced at the Knockdhu Distillery, founded in the Scottish Highlands in 1894. Since 1993, the distillery has marketed its single malts under the name “anCnoc” (Gaelic for “the hill”) to differentiate itself from the traditional whisky image and create a modern, contemporary brand. The distillery was awarded "Distiller of the Year" by the renowned Whisky Magazine in 2017 and represents a successful combination of tradition and innovation.

The anCnoc 18 Years initially matured for 16 years in ex-bourbon casks made of American oak before receiving a final finish of 2 years in first-fill sherry casks made of Spanish oak. This careful maturation gives the whisky its characteristic depth and complexity, with aromas of dried fruits, chocolate, and a fine spiciness.

Tasting Notes

Nose: Finely spicy with intense aromas of dried fruits, followed by notes of chocolate, ripe orange, and oiled leather. The nose is rich and complex.

Palate: On the palate, the whisky presents itself full-bodied and robust with flavors of aromatic spices, candied lemon, vanilla, honey, and caramel. The texture is soft and balanced.

Finish: Varies from peppery-spicy to a soft sweetness. The finish is long and leaves a lasting impression.
