Amrut Fusion 50% vol. 0.7 l

Unity, Peace and Prosperity – this is the motto of the Indian Amrut Fusion Single Malt Whisky.

It consists of 25% peated Scottish barley and 75% unpeated Indian barley. Both components were mashed and distilled independently. Maturation took place in (virgin and refill) American oak.

Tasting 1

Nose: Rich with barley and fruit notes. Big notes of citrus, spices and creamy sweetness. Hints of peat. Palate: Oak, rich and gentle peat, coffee, dark chocolate. Fruity. Finish: Long and spicy with marmalade notes, sweet. MasterOfMalt.com

Tasting 2

Nose: Very balanced with pure barley notes, fruit (blood orange), brown sugar, vanilla and dry, gentle peat. Cake-like texture. The peat notes add extra dimension. Palate: Initially orange and vanilla. Somewhat reminiscent of Turkish Delights (syrup-based confectionery) and a kind of chewing gum. Pleasantly oaky. A little mocha. The peat seems more in the background, but completes the profile very well and develops more and more over time. Finish: Long and rich with hints of orange.
