You won't be surprised to learn that many unique whiskies are produced in Scotland. But did you also know that the Highlands are the country's largest whisky-producing region?
This is where the most diverse varieties of the noble spirit are created throughout Scotland. Due to the abundance of different distilleries, the area can be divided into different parts. In the central part of the Highlands, in the town of Aberfeldy, lies the distillery of the same name, from which Aberfeldy 12 Years originates.

Fruity Single Malt from the Highlands

In general, the whiskies of the region are characterized by a sweet and very light taste. In addition, there is a hint of honey and heather. Just like the other whiskies from Aberfeldy, Aberfeldy 12 Years combines all these aromas into a wonderful overall concept. This 12-year-old single malt tastes of many fruits. It is therefore a true delight, also well suited for beginners.

Tasting 1

Nose: The scent is distinctly reminiscent of frankincense. Beneath it, the aroma of heather honey blends with a fruity softness. Hints of pineapple, toast, and cereals are also discernible.
Palate: Aberfeldy 12 Years flows over the tongue like liqueur and appears syrupy.
Finish: A full aroma develops on the finish. In the end, the taste becomes spicier with bitter hints of orange. A truly delicate finish. Deware, Aberfeldy

Tasting 2

Nose: This whisky is particularly fragrant. In addition to the scent of orange peel, you will smell a little sherry. It also has a slightly smoky aroma, especially of frankincense.
Palate: Due to its clear fruitiness, Aberfeldy 12 Years appears very lively and fresh. Its lightness on the tongue is owed to its many aromas and oily taste. You will also taste mandarins.
Finish: On the finish, this single malt tastes of kumquats. This is followed by a fruity glow. Michael Jackson, Whisky Magazine

Here, a fruity taste combines with many different smoky and oily aromas. You won't find peaty nuances in Aberfeldy 12 Years, but the maltiness in some places compensates for this absence. This whisky from the Highlands is a wonderful example of the diversity of this region. Cheers to this taste experience!
